Scrapbook Files: March 2017

Ah, March.  It seems like every year this month is very uneventful. Maybe it's because there were so many events in such a short month right before that it makes March feel extra long and boring? We did do one fun thing: a day trip to Gettysburg! It was my first time there and I enjoyed taking in the sites and the history.

Maps are always one of my favorite things to save from trips to add to my scrapbook. As you can tell from the upper right pocket, the map of the park is what inspired the color palette for this layout: greens, tans, and the blue from the sky that day.

Above, I was trying to add some more small details for interest and depth -- my layouts are often pretty flat.

Scrapbook Files: February 2017

I've been so wrapped up with wedding planning and family events that I got behind on my scrapbooking and blogging! In theory, I will share the next few months in quick succession.

February is always a fun month: my birthday, Valentine's Day, our anniversary, and for the past two years, track and field alumni events at my college. I took so many picture that I made a two full page spreads.  The left documents some random occurrences during the month, and I used the right side to concentrate everything we celebrated.  Pink is always appropriate in February, and I was trying to move out of my blue comfort zone.

February was all about stamping for me after buying a new stamp set from Elle's studio, and I became a very quick stamp convert.

I went back to old favorite colors on the second spread of the month, drawing inspiration from the photo of the building on the right hand side.  The first truly gorgeous day of the year.
